This was the third time that Metallica performed at the Rock in Rio festival in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Metallica first performed in Brazil on October 4, 1989 at Ginásio do Maracanãzinho.

They first played Rock in Rio in Brazil on September 25, 2011.

This was the first time in over 16 years that “King Nothing” was performed in Brazil. It was last played in the country on May 9, 1999.

This was the first time that “The Unforgiven,” “Turn the Page,” “The Frayed Ends of Sanity” and “Whiskey in the Jar” were played in Rio de Janeiro.

This was the first time that “Turn the Page,” and “The Frayed Ends of Sanity” were played in Brazil.
