This was the 104th show on the World Magnetic Tour and the 78th performance in 2009.

This was the 15th time that Metallica played in the Toronto area. They have also played an additional five gigs in neighboring cities Hamilton and London.

This was the first time in five years that Metallica performed in Toronto.

Metallica first performed in Toronto on January 19, 1985 during the Ride the Lightning Tour.

This was the first time in 23 years that Ride the Lightning was performed in Toronto. It was last played here on December 9, 1986 at Maple Leaf Gardens during the Master of Puppets Tour.

Whiplash was performed for the first time in 13 years. It was last played here on June 23, 1996.

Stone Cold Crazy was played for the first time in 11 years. The band previously played the Queen classic on November 17, 1998 at The Warehouse during the Garage Barrage Tour.

For the third time on this North American leg, Fade to Black was performed in the fifth slot, normally occupied by One.
